SELLER INFORMATION (GEAR DROP OFF)

Have you got used snow gear to sell? You’ve come to the right place.

We will be checking in gear from 10am – 3pm on Saturday 2nd May at Haere-roa (UCSA Building), 90 Ilam Road, Christchurch.

Your gear will be checked in with your contact details, pricing and gear information using our automated system. You will need to come with your details ready, to streamline the process please make sure you have these details written on a piece of paper:

  • FIRST AND LAST NAME
  • EMAIL
  • BANK ACCOUNT NUMBER
  • DESCRIPTION OF THE ITEM
  • PRICE YOU WANT TO SELL THE ITEM FOR

Please remember, due to limited space and for safety reasons, we cannot take all gear brought in. There are rules in place to ensure that we only take in gear that is not too old and in good condition. Some examples of gear we will not accept are:

  • STRAIGHT SKIS
  • PROTECTIVE GEAR WITH IMPACT DAMAGE
  • ADULT REAR ENTRY SKI BOOTS
  • OBVIOUSLY BROKEN GEAR
  • OUTDATED TOURING BINDINGS, e.g. Fritschi FT88, Silvretta SL, Petzl Sk’alp.
  • ALPINE BINDINGS NO LONGER INDEMNIFIED BY THE MANUFACTURER
  • ANALOG AVALANCHE TRANSCEIVERS
  • USED HELMETS

The CUSSC reserves the right to refuse any gear deemed unsuitable for sale.

Please note for any gear you are planning to donate to the sale that is unlikely to see for any cost, please consider donating it to a second hand store. This is especially relevant for warm clothing that may be unlikely to sell at the sale, but would be a great donation for those in need!

Also please consider the pricing of items before drop-off, so as to assist with faster and smoother check-in. Remember, gear that is reasonably priced is most likely to sell. We will have experts on hand to assist you if you are unsure of the suitability or value of your gear.

Commission rate for public gear: 20% of the final price.

Gear pick up: Any unsold gear will be available to pick up, from 5-6pm on Sunday 3rd May at the end of the sale. Sellers will be required to find their own leftover gear and check out at the counter. Please bring your receipt when collecting gear.

Uncollected gear will be dealt with as per the Sellers Terms and Conditions.

This year, we will be doing gear pick ups within a three-month time period to pick up uncollected gear. After this three month period, CUSSC reserves the right to take ownership of unsold, unpicked up gear. This is simply due to our volunteers not having capacity to provide endless pick ups for unsold gear.

Please read the Public Seller Terms and Conditions clearly before the Snow Sale.
